This week I spoke with the always entertaining Butch Bradley who is one of the best touring comedians working in the country today. He often performs for our troops on USO tours, as well as having been featured in the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival.
Andrew: What is the secret to maintaining a career in stand up comedy?
Butch: Having a roommate who keeps the refrigerator full.
Andrew: How does a comic go from good to great?
Butch: A comic becomes great after going from good to bad to worse many times.
Andrew: What is your favorite book? What did you learn from that book?
Butch: The Chronicles of Narnia. Obviously, is not one book, but because every comic is just searching for that wardrobe. That's dumb don't write that down.
Andrew: Have you ever seen another comic doing your jokes?
Butch: I did see a comic doing my jokes and he it was pathetic because it was an airplane joke. I went up to and confronted him and he said that he didn't know if it was his or mine. I told him well that we should both just "land that plane."
Andrew: What is the worst city in America and why?
Butch: Hermosa Beach because every time I leave the bar there are two ATM's sitting next to that liquor store.
Butch Bradley will be appearing at The Comedy & Magic Club on our 10 Comics shows on Friday, November 13th & Saturday, November 14th 2009. ER.
