Ian Bagg is the first name in this sentence and chances are, it will be the last. Ian started comedy in a small country off the coast of Japan called “Canada”. He proceeded to do all the show business things that every successful Canadian entertainers do. He went to a “Hockey Night in Canada” game on a Saturday night, performed at the “Montreal Comedy Festival”, kissed a fish in New Foundland and did a “Comedy Now” special on CTV. So what does a Canadian do when he has done all? He boards a train to NYC! Wherein he goes on to live in a youth hostel but eventually and luckily ends up on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien”, “The Late Late show with Craig Ferguson” and the “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno”. It is not always fun and games; he was forced to do “Make Me Laugh”, “Showcase Comics with Louie Anderson”, “Fridays” on NBC and “Late Late Show with Caig Kilborn”.
Acting, although not his first love, has been fun. Here is something interesting; Ian is the only known human that has worked with famed director producer Judd Apatow and has not become a multi-billionaire. But in spite of that, life has been amazing! Ian has been on the History Channel, the Food Network and the Biography Channel. Also, Ian was the first ever Canadian to meet three different presidents, including Ronald Reagan, Jimmy Carter and George Bush. Although only one of these people were actually physically in the White House at the time…one was on a plane and one at a hockey practice… He has worked red carpet interviews, managing to piss off Brad Pitt, be hit with a champagne bottle, and asked for chocolate-covered pretzels by Alec Baldwin. You probably wonder what kind of man does this and does not implode. Why, it is a man whose dog survived a horrific three story fall. A man that’s been known to think he is twelve, although was actually more like twenty-nine or seventy-two. Surprisingly, Ian went to school to be an explosives enigneer. But a lucky chance at a open mic event made him the oh-so volatile one. Soon after all of that , Ian had two successful half-hour specials; one on “Comedy Central Presents” and HBO’s “A Comics Climb”. And just recently, he taped his first one hour special.
So if you dare to see a comedian who was named the “…number 2 out of 11 comics to see live in 2012” by “Crave Online”, he will be in your area soon…‘cause this Manchild does over a million airmiles a year Or conversely, you could listen to his radio/podcast, The Ian Bagg Show on Sirius/XM 160 radio,www.theianbaggshow.com or download on itunes.
“Anyway you get to know him you will remember him”, (Ronald Reagan)
